Helen has successfully organised International Property Exhibitions bringing together the house-buying public and international property vendors.   She has been the vice Chairman of the judging panel on the International Property Awards for over ten years and continues to bring the wealth of her experience to the success of the awards.

Christian is a consultant to international architecture and design practice Aukett Fitzroy Robinson with 20 years experience in the architecture industry.

Experienced across most property sectors, Christian has designed and delivered developments for a wide range of commercial and private clients.

Efficient, simple, intelligent and effective sustainable built environments that enhance user experience are at the core of his design ethos across all building typologies.

 

James Bacon is the UK Account Manager responsible for Google's major property accounts.  He has 8 years media experience working across magazines, radio & online.  In his current role he works with a number of clients to help them build their online marketing strategies using Google's suite of products; from PPC to online video (Youtube) to free tools such as Google Analytics & Website Optimizer.  James lives in Earlsfield, SW London with his wife, Olivia.  When not working he enjoys recording music, travelling and playing tennis.

Ann Wright joined Primelocation.com in November 2006 as International Product Manager. Ann Wright joined Primelocation.com in November 2006 as International Product Manager. Andy Watt established brand and marketing consultancy One Big Step in 2009.

He has had a twenty-year career in luxury automotive, retail and branding with some of the world’s most respected brands including Land Rover, Aston Martin and Bentley.

Before establishing brand and marketing consultancy One Big Step he was Managing Director of Bentley’s bespoke division and continues to be a commentator on luxury and brand marketing.

Pamela White serves the CEO of the Interior Design Society, a national association representing 3,000 residential interior designers.  She has worked within the real estate and housing industry for 10 years ranging from the Interior Design Society to the National Association of Realtors Housing Foundation.  Prior to working directly in the field of Real Estate and Interior Design; she was employed with Wickersham publishing as the editor of a local newspaper.
Her interests outside her professional career include serving in a volunteer position on the America’s Second Harvest National Board of Directors.

Richard Cotton is a former Chairman of the UAE branch of RICS and Senior Partner at Cluttons Residential Estate Agency setting up and establishing Cluttons in the Middle East.

Richard specialises in the private residential investment market in London acting for and advising private, charitable and institutional investors.  

Richard is currently working with Residential Land.

Peter Crome has worked in the Hospitality Industry for over four decades.

In the past thirty years he has worked in the Luxury Market. He joined The Hyde Park Hotel (now Mandarin- Hyde Park) in 1979, working with legendary hotelier Willy Bauer. When Bauer moved to The Savoy as Managing Director, Crome followed as Hotel Manager and soon made a name for himself within the Industry.

In 1990 American hotelier, Bob Zimmer offered Peter the post of General Manager of the refurbished St Andrew’s Old Course Hotel in the ‘Home of Golf’. There he saw the Hotel through to its 5 Star rating.

In 1994 peter moved to The Chewton Glen Hotel and Spa in Hampshire as Managing Director, taking the reins from Robin Hutson who went on to found the Hotel du Vin Group. Here Crome made his mark and was recognised as Hotelier of the Year in 2000. He was also voted one of the top three Hotel General Managers in the World’ in a readers poll in Gallivanter’s Guide.

In 2003 Crome was appointed Chairman and Managing Director of the famed Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle by the then, new owner. There he oversaw a £16m plus refurbishment programme.

Michael Winner, the revered Sunday Times food critic declared Peter Crome: ‘the best ‘Hotel Manager in the World’ in 2004.

David has been involved in the property industry for almost 20 years after an early career in financial services.  He was one of the founders of smartnewhomes.com, the market leading new homes website that was established in March 2001.  A previous winner of the International Property Awards, smartnewhomes.com brings new home buyers and new home builders together and provides a wealth of information on the new homes sector.  The business was acquired by Trinity Mirror in 2005 and David became Managing Director of Trinity Mirror Digital Property, responsible for several brands including homesoverseas.co.uk, Zoomf and email4property.co.uk.

In 2004 David was awarded Building Industry Entrepreneur of the Year at the Building Awards .

Currently David is Managing Director of propertypriceadvice.co.uk, a rapidly growing price information website generating more than 1,000 automated valuations daily and with ambitious growth plans.  Previously, David was Group Marketing Director of the award winning house builder Redrow Group plc.

Married with three grown up children, David is a keen sportsman having played National Division rugby and regularly competes in triathlons.  He is also an enthusiastic pianist.

Nathan Hones is an architect and the General Manager of Stride Treglown – Abu Dhabi. Originally from Sydney, he graduated in Architecture from Sydney University in 1996 and has recently completed his MBA in Construction & Real Estate at Reading University.
Nathan has successfully delivered local UAE projects such as the Festival Centre in Dubai Festival City (including the largest IKEA store in the Middle East), logistics and commercial centres at IMPZ and the MENA headquarters for US oil magnate Baker Hughes.
Nathan has also worked on the Palazzo Versace Hotel in Culture Village and was development manager responsible for the 4.4 billion dirham high end residential tower, The Atrium, voted Cityscape Dubai’s most iconic building in 2008.
Nathan is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Stride Treglown in the Middle East, a top 20 UK architectural practice with education and health expertise, who opened their first international office in Abu Dhabi in 2009.

Jerome Munro-Lafon is a Managing Director at URS/Scott Wilson, with specific responsibility for all UK & Ireland operations.

After graduating from Glasgow University in 1975, Jerome joined the Motorways Division of Strathclyde Regional Council where he gained a wide range of experience progressing the M8 urban motorway programme in Glasgow.

In 1977, he transferred to Scott Wilson to assist with several World Bank funded road projects in French speaking West Africa. This was closely followed with a four year period in Baghdad working on the Baghdad Transport Study and the Baghdad Metro Project.

In 1985, after a short period back in the UK, he was sent to Saudi Arabia as Project Manager for a High Capacity Rail Study to serve the major conurbations across the Kingdom.

On returning to the UK in 1987 he was appointed head of Transport Planning and started to develop a cross discipline group within Scott Wilson to provide a comprehensive range of services to the evolving PFI market. In 1995, he joined the Europe Board of Scott Wilson to drive expansion of the business into Poland and Eastern Europe. His experience of working with banks and his understanding of both the public and private sectors were key to advancing the Scott Wilson business. Although routed in transport, Jerome was instrumental in broadening the Scott Wilson organisation into the wider built environment, taking responsibility for master-planning, ports, airports and transport planning.

In 2004, he was made responsible for all the Scott Wilson operations in the South of England. In 2009 he became Group Managing Director of the Scott Wilson Group plc and in 2010 took on a wider Managing Director role when URS Corporation acquired Scott Wilson.

Chris Smith is National Sales Manager for Kohler. Chris works in the Newbuild sector.

Kohler, an American company was formed in 1873 and has been improving the lives of its customers with exceptional products and services with a diversity of products and powerful portfolio of brands leading the way in design, craftsmanship and innovation.

Graham has been involved with CIC since 1989. Initially, as a member of the Council and its Executive Board, then as a Director. He was appointed Chief Executive and Secretary in October 1991.
Graham is responsible for the general policy and direction of the Council, for maintaining effective communication with Government, other external agencies and with members and for establishing and maintaining the CIC Secretariat.
He is also currently the Secretary of the Strategic Forum for Construction Olympic Task Force, which is hosted by CIC, and a Board member of both ConstructionSkills and Constructing Excellence.  Additionally he is a Visiting Professor at the University of Northumbria. He is an Honorary Fellow of the RIBA, CIBSE, the ABE and the Faculty of Building and an Honorary Member of the RICS and CIAT. He was awarded the President’s Medal of the CIOB in 2000 and the Peter Stone Award in 1996.
Prior to joining CIC, Graham was Chief Executive of the British Institute of Architectural Technologists (a member of CIC) from 1983.
Graham has had a lifelong involvement in the sport of fencing and his competitive career culminated with a Commonwealth Medal in 1990. In 1992, he captained the British Sabre team at the Barcelona Olympic Games. He is currently the Manager and Performance Director of the British Olympic Fencing Team and was the Team Leader at the 2004 Olympics Games.
Graham received an OBE at the New Years Honours in 2008 for his services to the construction industry. Graham is married with two children and he is also a devoted balletomane and dance writer

Christopher Hall, Honoured Past President of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) is currently President of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) World Networking Task Force and President Elect of the UK Chapter and Vice President of FIABCI World Networking & Marketing 09/11. Christopher holds the Transnational Referral Certificate designation awarded by NAR and has, for a number of years, been committed to helping improve the perception of property industry related people and has also strived to get a fair deal for the home seller with regard to the Government’s Home Information Packs.  Another of his passions is the introduction of property related self-regulation worldwide and has been party to the International Charter encouraging a common code of practice. He is a member of NAR’s International Speakers Cadre, speaks on and encourages referral making via agent to agent business activity  and is involved in various property related businesses including Home Staging where he lives by the 3Ps – Preparation, Presentation and Promotion. Christopher was born, bred and educated in Norwich UK, has travelled and worked extensively abroad and is clearly a  keen sports fan being an Associate Director of Norwich City Football Club he also enjoys rugby, cricket, tennis, skiing and golf and says he couldn’t do and achieve what he does without the fantastic support of his wife Wendy and family..

Christian H. Kälin is an international real estate, tax and estate-planning specialist and a partner at Henley & Partners, Switzerland. He is also a member of the board of directors of the International Financial and Legal Network (IFLN), Zurich, and one of the founding partners of Verica Trust & Capital Management, Zug, an investment advisory firm with a strong focus on real estate. He also specialises in real-estate structuring and real-estate investments and is the editor as well as one of the co-authors of the International Real Estate Handbook, a standard work in the field.

Simon Numphud, AA Hotel Services business manager, has worked with the AA since 1997 and is responsible for all operational and financial aspects of the Hotels Services business, including overall management of inspection and head office resources, the AA recognition schemes for hotels, guest accommodation, self catering, restaurants and camping and caravanning, and the annual AA Hospitality Awards event.

Simon is responsible for the relationships with external trade and tourism bodies and is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality. Simon has worked within the hospitality industry throughout his career, gaining a diploma in Hotel, Catering and Institutional Management and a degree in Hotel & Catering Management before spending ten years working in restaurant and hotels within Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds region.

Patrick Grove is co-founder of IPGA Limited, Asia’s No.1 online property group and Group CEO, Executive Chairman and major shareholder of the Catcha Media Group, one of South East Asia's most dynamic media companies and Malaysia’s largest English language magazine publisher.

Over the past decade, Patrick has built a number of significant media and internet businesses across Asia and has been independently recognised with numerous international awards including Global Leader of Tomorrow (2001) and New Asian Leader (2003) by the World Economic Forum; and as Young Entrepreneur of the Year (2004) by the Australian Chamber of Commerce, Singapore.

Rebecca Johnson has over 20 years experience in television news, much of it centred on marketing and distribution to top international hotels.

From 1985-1991, she was regional sales manager for CNN International, introducing the then new concept of 24 hour news to hoteliers across the Mediterranean, and launched the channel in Italy with the Cipriani as CNN’s first client. Rebecca continued to focus on hotels from 1992-1998 during her time at Super Channel , NBC and CNBC Europe, marketing and growing distribution in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.

After five years at the Associated Press as sales manager for the AP’s broadcast technology department, she returned to the world of media and hospitality as an independent consultant, devising and implementing strategies for international TV channels on hotel distribution and liaising between client and hotel on technical issues.

Widely travelled, Rebecca is at ease in a variety of business cultures, is fluent in French and Italian and holds a diploma in communicative Arabic from SOAS. She is currently a consultant for Bloomberg Television in London.

Dean is Managing Director of Armstrong Keyworth Interior Design. Before setting up Armstrong Keyworth in 1997, Dean was an international marketing manager and uses this management experience as well as his creative flair to ensure that client projects run smoothly and efficiently.

Tricia Topping is the Chief Executive of TTA Group, a leading communications group with both public relations and marketing divisions. The 40-strong team specialises in property and the service industries in the property world.  The Group operates both nationally and internationally with experience in most regions within the property, lifestyle and leisure markets.

TTA’s design subsidiary, Bullnose, also operates internationally and has considerable strength in the digital marketing arena. TTA also has a specialist division concentrating on the development of online marketing and social media.

Mark is a widely recognised expert on property and development research. His track record, engaging with the highest rank of industry and regulation authorities has placed him in a prominent position to address key issues and disseminate knowledge through numerous conferences, seminars and workshops.
Mark holds several degrees including a PhD in the affect of building efficiency on business performance.
In his role as Director of the Scottish Construction Centre Mark set up a series of value added initiatives including benchmarking and KPI’s which have since been taken up by governments and organisation throughout the World.  Other notable achievements are being a Director for the International Building Council, CIB (2007 – 2010) and an active Professor in the School of the Built Environment at Salford University.

In 1994 Tony Murkett joined The Sloane Club as Managing Director of one of London’s most prestigious private members’ clubs in order to oversee its massive expansion and re-positioning. Prior to this appointment, Tony spent 25 years with Forte, starting as an apprentice and rising to General Manager of their flag-ship hotel, Grosvenor House on Park Lane. He is a distinguished hotelier and a major contributor to the Hospitality Industry with consultancies to many other hotels around the country. He is also the owner of The Hotel Northampton, a 106 bedroom, four star historic Hotel in Massachusetts, USA.

ARLA Operations Manager having spent 16 years as a letting agent working as a partner in a single office firm before joining a National Group. Was a National Council Member for ARLA from 1993 to 2006. Had responsibility at various times for finance and compliance matters as well as being involved with the conception of Buy to Let. A member of various working parties and stakeholder groups with interest in the Private rented Sector. Has a keen understanding of the problems faced by landlords and agents added to knowledge of tenant demand, area of the market place where landlord supply does not always come up to satisfying tenant demand. Worked in Banking for over 20 years and has and is aware of the problems of the current credit crunch and the changes being made by lenders. Represents ARLA on various bodies with interest in Tenancy Deposit Protection.

Nigel Lewis is an award-winning writer and editor who for over a decade has
specialised in UK and overseas property while working at  the Daily Mail,
several Channel 4 magazines including A Place in they Sun and, most
recently, as head of content at The Digital Property Group, parent company
of Primelocation.com and FindaProperty.com. He is married, lives in SW
London and owns homes in both the UK and France.

Vanessa Brady has been a professional Interior Designer for over 25 years and is a co founder and current President of the Society of British Interior Design, now the largest organisation in the UK representing interior designers and architects.

Vanessa, a former Designer of the Year, is still also a busy and active designer running her own International Consultancy Practice with projects ranging from grand homes to major international hotels, and from night clubs to her most recent project being the redesign of the influential Design Council, she is also Managing Director of IDS an independent interior design and construction company based in London and has her own portfolio of properties around the UK.

Vanessa sits on a number of Boards and most recently was appointed on behalf of SBID to solely represent the professional interior design sector in the important Campaign for Wool five year global initiative convened by HRH Prince of Wales.

Mr. Orf is President & CEO of Citi Property Investors.   Mr. Orf is responsible for CPI’s Global investment activities.  Mr. Orf joined Citigroup in October 2004, and has spent the majority of his career investing in the European real estate markets on behalf of Lone Star, for his own account and at Goldman Sachs.  In his last 4 years at Goldman Sachs, Mr. Orf headed its European Real Estate Department, was involved in the formation and initial success of the Whitehall Fund and was a member of its European Investment Banking Operating Committee.  

Mr. Orf is Director of The Ambassador Theatre Group and E- Shelter GmbH.  He is a member of the Chicago Graduate School of Business Global Advisory Board and serves on the Investment Committee of Stirling Square Capital Partners.  

Mr. Orf holds J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Chicago, as well as a B.A. in Economics (Magna cum Laude) and Phi Beta Kappa from Georgetown University.  Roger lives in London with his wife Lisa and three children, Kate, Ted and Ben.

Having trained in England, Germany, the USA and Canada, Hendrik started his career as a landscape architect, A certified business manager, he soon realised that his passion was real estate and so established consultancy companies such as Experts BVBA in 1990, followed by Nelde NV and Gimov NV. By 1999 Hendrik had set up an office specialising in all aspects of residential property rental.
In 2002, this became the first office in Belgium to become a franchise of the market leading RE/MAX.

Since 2001, Katrina has worked as a Hotel Development Consultant providing feasibility studies and project direction for hotels and resorts both in the UK and internationally. Katrina has developed business plans, identified operators, and raised capital for hotels ranging from small luxury stand-alone properties, to large integrated resort complexes incorporating lodging, conference facilities, golf, and other leisure components.

Prior to establishing her consultancy, Katrina worked for 12 years in hotel and resort development and hotel brand franchising. In her last executive position as Chief Executive Officer of Accor Asia Pacific Hotels and Resorts Philippines, she oversaw the re-branding and refurbishment of some 1,150 rooms to the Sofitel, Novotel, and Mercure brands. Katrina was Vice President for Projects at the Grand Hotels and Resorts Group, where she oversaw the development and marketing of some 400 resort residential units, renovated an 18-hole championship golf course and launched a marina.

Adrian Coolbergen is a successful entrepreneur having built up a large horticultural business supplying salads to Tesco. After selling the business in the late nineties he moved into property design and construction resulting in a number of successful commercial and residential builds and conversions. Adrian now works extensively with Savills and Quantum Homes Ltd. on the investment and refurbishment of numerous properties throughout London, Bournemouth and Poole and has won many special awards for sustainable designs in the Poole area. Adrian is the Managing Director of Starguard Development Ltd. and a director of Quantum Land Ltd.

Iris has worked within a cross section of the Interior Design Industry, ranging from working in the Interior Design division of Building Design Partnership  to an independent practitioner. Her experience has spanned all sectors, working on commercial offices and restaurants to residential and exhibition projects. Her teaching background has been integrated into her career and she started The Interior Design School in the early nineties to combine her design and teaching skills.
She was elected President of The British Interior Design Association in November having served three years as Education Director.

With has a total of 35 years experience in the engineering and hospitality industries, George Graham brings the disciplines of these areas to the key role of Development Director at the Five Red Star Gleneagles Hotel.  George joined Gleneagles as Technical Services Manager in 1981 after gaining hospitality industry experience with Thistle Hotels, and a career as an industrial engineer serving the public and private sectors.  As Technical Director from 1987-1992, George was responsible for all aspects of design and construction at Gleneagles.   From 1992-1995 he was Deputy General Manager, responsible for all support departments.  From 1995 to 1998 George held the role of Operations Director and from 1998 to 2000 was General Manager, responsible for the day-to-day running of all hotel operations.  But now, as Development Director, George has responsibility for developing additional products that will enhance the critical mass of the resort and so increase profitability in line with the overall Gleneagles Vision.
Since 1982, Gleneagles has invested more than £46 million and has recently redesigned public areas, The Club and a number of bedrooms and suites.

Michael Harris is editor of the UK’s most widely read golf magazine, Golf Monthly. Published by IPC Media, Europe’s largest magazine publisher, Golf Monthly is the world’s oldest monthly golf title and will celebrate its centenary in 2011. Michael is a member of Royal North Devon and Royal Liverpool golf clubs where he plays to handicap of 7. Michael has travelled extensively and played over 300 golf courses worldwide.

Mike Jordan of Cornish Stairways and a former Chairman of the School of Architecture at the University of Plymouth is a passionate stairway designer with an international reputation. He has worked for many years on global iconic buildings, most notably the Burj Al Arab Hotel, Dubai for Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince, and many others in the region. Mike also designs stairways for super yachts.  As a qualified engineer with a second degree in Business Management he has a strong background in architecture and has gained much experience in working with some of the world's best architects over the years.

Peter Bolton King started work in 1973 with a leading Warwickshire firm of chartered surveyors and estate agents, Locke & England. After working in different departments he qualified as a Chartered Surveyor and became the firm’s youngest ever partner. In 1987 the business was sold to Lloyds Bank and Peter Bolton King became an area director. More recently, the firm became part of Bradford and Bingley and he became area sales director for the largest area in the country.   In July 2003, Peter became Chief Executive of the National Association of Estate Agents, the largest professional body for estate agents with a membership in excess of 10,000.  

Earlier this year he was appointed Group Chief Executive of the National Federation of Property Professionals when a new company was set up which now incorporates the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA), the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA), National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers (NAVA) and the Federation of Overseas Property Developers Agents and Consultants (FOPDAC). 

Peter was awarded an honorary Certificate in International Property by the National Association of Realtors in recognition of his contribution to international agency.

Currently representing the NAEA on various Government committees relating to the proposed Home Information Packs and related matters, he also holds a number of other Industry Board appointments of behalf of the Federation. These include ICREA, FIABCI, Asset Skills and the Ombudsman for Estate Agents (OEA) Board and Council

Peter is passionate about raising standards in the industry and also raising customer awareness of the benefits of the Association.  He continues to lobby Government for minimum standards in the industry.

James Mattin has over 14 years experience in the property industry.  Having studied at the University of West of England, James started his career in property at Andrew Grant Estate Agents.  Prior to joining Midlands-based Property Investment & Auction Company Bond Wolfe and becoming Managing Partner at the tender age of 32, James specialised in the sale and acquisition of hotels and commercial property at Christie & Co.  Since joining Bond Wolfe James has been instrumental in winning a number of tenders including British Waterways, and a number of local authorities and has also played a major role in increasing the size of the company’s auctions from an average of 40 lots per auction to over 100 lots.  James has also personally conducted a number of charity auctions for organisations such as Cure Leukaemia and Sense.

Paul Tayler is vice chairman of the Residential faculty board of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and chair of the Estate Agency group. He has more than 20 years of estate agency experience including being Central London Director variously with Savills, Sotheby's and Hampton's. He is recognized as a specialist in the highest value Belgravia, Mayfair, Kensington, and Chelsea markets and has acted on behalf of several of the main landowners here including the Grosvenor Estate, the Cadogan Estate, and the Crown Estate. He is currently a consultant valuer to the Grosvenor Estate, was recently chair of the working group to revise and re-issue the Manual of Estate Agency for the RICS, and he sits on one of the working groups for the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister on Home Buying Reform.

Mark studied furniture design and interior design at the London College of Furniture, before working for Habitat and going on to help launch Next Interiors in the early 80's. From there he moved to Jane Churchill, Colefax & Fowler then onto Laura Ashley Design Service where he worked around the UK and helped establish their franchise businesses in the Middle East. Mark has been involved with 100% Design, Decorex, BBC Good Homes, Grand Designs, The Country Living Fair and the Daily Mail Ideal Home Exhibition, as well as designing show homes and is currently representing Silent Gliss in Central London. He is passionate about good design and architecture.

Former chairman of the British Interior Design Association, Diana is Interior Design Director of Yakeley Associates Architects. Passionate about the built environment, she has been working to raise the profile of good interior design in the building industry. Her work in interiors and garden design both in the UK and overseas, is widely published.

A former TV documentary producer, Peter Swain now writes on property, travel and golf for the likes of the Sunday Times, Mail on Sunday, Daily Mail and Sunday Express, as well as primelocation.com and a range of magazines including Caribbean World, Departures and Business Traveller.

He is also Property Editor of Golf International, a thinly veiled excuse to wander the world in the pursuit of sporting happiness.
