There are 21 categories available in the Residential Section and 15 categories available in the Commercial Section. Up to two of the most outstanding entries in each category can be awarded a four star, the best overall entry can be given a 5 star. In each case there is a minimum percentage of marks which need to be awarded to reach the standard required for a four and a five star. A minimum of 60% is required for a four star and 75% required for the five star.
All 5 star winners are re-assessed and the highest scorer from each category will be awarded a nomination for that region. In effect being the best in that region for that category.
The nominations are taken one from each region per category. Giving up to 6 nominations to compete for the best overall category winner of the world.

The external appearance, the layout of the individual units as well as the site as a whole will be scrutinised. Be sure to include a good variety of photographs / images showing the property before and after work has been carried out.

The architecture and design of the building(s) are paramount. Evidence will need to be provided to show that attention to details whilst complimenting the surrounding environment has had much consideration.

Points of architectural interest, which display innovation and uniqueness in style. Provide information on the use of space (provide floor plans). Provide details of safety, security, energy efficiency and innovation.
