The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung or ‘Frankfurter General Newspaper’ was first published in 1949, with the intention of reporting news across Germany as a whole. Today the F.A.Z has 951,000 daily readers and is the standard newspaper on all eight German stock exchanges. It is unique in that it does not have one single editor, but instead determines its editorial policy through a consensus-based committee of five. Distributed across 140 countries worldwide, it has the highest circulation of any quality German-language newspaper abroad. Website: www.faz.net
